A piece of Tuscany in Milan: from traditional courses to aperitivo

Squeezed between one shop and the other, the entrance of this restaurant goes unnoticed and seems to lead to a place completely ignorable. Well, it is not so. Just take a short walk, pass by the kitchen and enter an immense hall where, between one plant and the other, there is a large amount of tables lit by candles. La Trattoria opened in the ‘70s thanks to the efforts of four friends, Elio, Luciano, Jolita and Mara.

The photos of the quartet are hung on the wall near the door and you can often see the founders chatting and moving around the tables, probably with more wrinkles and white hair than in the picture, but still extremely smiling. “We like what we do, this is the secret!” explains Luciano, while taking his drink to the garden, the real gem of the place especially during the summer.

Do not be fooled by the name: the Trattoria has not only Tuscan dishes, indeed, its cuisine extends over the whole Italian tradition, from risotto to fish. Famous for its aperitivo and its amazing selection of wines, the Trattoria Toscana is a place you don’t want to miss!
